Understanding the problem

Louise, the baker behind Centrepiece Cakes, was rebranding from Bakealous and needed a website that reflected the new name and elevated positioning. Her cakes are genuine works of art, featuring intricate sugar flowers and bespoke designs, but the previous website did not showcase them in a way that justified the premium pricing. She needed a complete digital strategy covering website, search visibility, and social media to establish the new brand.

Our Approach

How we tackled it

We designed a visually stunning website that puts the cake photography front and centre. The layout takes an editorial, gallery-led approach with generous whitespace and refined typography. We integrated an Instagram feed to keep the site feeling fresh, and built out dedicated sections for weddings and celebrations. Alongside the website, we implemented SEO targeting wedding cake keywords across Hertfordshire and surrounding counties, launched Google Ads campaigns for seasonal peaks like wedding season, and managed social media across Instagram, Pinterest, and Google Business Profile, showcasing her latest creations and behind-the-scenes content that resonates with brides-to-be.

The Results

The impact we made

The new website successfully launched the Centrepiece Cakes brand and established a premium online presence from day one. The visual-first approach on Instagram and Pinterest proved particularly effective, with the stunning cake photography driving high engagement and direct enquiries. Google Ads captured couples actively searching for wedding cake designers, while SEO built organic visibility over time. Wedding enquiries increased significantly as couples discovered her work through multiple channels.
